The ouster of the Saudi culture and media minister

The ouster of the Saudi Minister of Culture and Communications, `Abdul-`Aziz Al-Khujah, was sudden.  He was quite influential in contributing to the setting up the Saudi policies toward Lebanon and Syria.  He tweeted that he has ordered the suspension of Wisal TV. Wiwal TV is a major Saudi Wahhabi sectarian channel that agitates against Shi`ites and `Alawites round the clock, and has promoted `Adnan Al-`Ar`ur (the Syrian kooky cleric and guru of Salafi kooks).  Within hours of the order, Khujah was dismissed and Wisal TV continues to operate. Moreover, it hosted the very Mufti of Saudi Arabia.  Basically, Khujrah was told by the Saudi royal family that anti-Shi`ism is here to stay. There is also another element of the story, `Abdul-`Aziz bin Fahd, has a stake in the station.  Commoners, even as ministers, have to be told that a baby Saudi prince outranks them.
